Connect Claude

Claude can connect to Formaliq as a connector, giving it access to your templates, forms, submissions, generated documents, and signable documents for a conversation.

Step 1: Add Formaliq as a connector

In Claude, open Settings > Connectors and choose to add a custom connector. When asked for a URL, enter:

https://api.formaliq.com/mcp

Claude will register itself with Formaliq automatically the first time you connect — there's nothing to copy from Formaliq beforehand.

Step 2: Authentication and OAuth Client Setting

When prompted, for Authentication select Sign in now. And for OAuth client, select Register automatically.

Then select Add at the bottom. You will then be asked to Connect which you can click the button.

Step 3: Connect and Sign in to Formaliq

Claude will open Formaliq's sign-in and consent screen. Sign in if you aren't already, then review the Connect Claude screen. It shows exactly what Claude is asking to do (for example, read and write access to templates or forms) and lets you choose which organization, and optionally which workspace within it, to grant access to.

Choose Allow to finish connecting, or Deny to cancel.

If every organization you belong to is on the free plan, you'll be asked to upgrade before you can continue. See Connections for more on this requirement.

Step 4: Add Domain allowlist

On Claude, go to Settings > Capabilities and scroll down to Domain allowlist portion. Add the following to be able to handle document uploads to Formaliq:

api.formaliq.com

Step 5: Use it

Once connected, you can ask Claude to work with Formaliq directly in conversation. For example, "create a template for a standard NDA with placeholders for both parties' names," or "generate a document from the latest submission to the intake form and send it out for signature." Claude will use the permissions you granted to carry out the request.

Managing or removing the connection

You can see when the connection was made and when it was last used, and disconnect it at any time, from Settings > Connections in Formaliq. You can also remove the connector from Claude's own connector settings.
