Connect ChatGPT
ChatGPT can connect to Formaliq as a connector, giving it access to your templates, forms, submissions, generated documents, and signable documents for a conversation.
ChatGPT has some limitations connecting with Formaliq. The biggest is it can't upload documents as tempates. For example, if you have an Agreement Word file you upload to ChatGPT and ask it to then create a template, it will not be able to handle this command. In the meantime, upload the templates directly to Formaliqs website.
Step 1: Enable Developer Mode
While we build out the plugin for ChatGPT, you can connect by enabling developer mode. This will not be required once Formaliq is accepted as a plugin in the ChatGPT markeplace.
In ChatGPT, open Settings > Security and login and scroll down to Developer Mode and enable it.
Step 2: Add Formaliq as a plugin
In ChatGPT, open the Plugins page and click the + button to add a new plugin. On the New Plugin popup you can use the below settings:
Name: Formaliq
Connections(Server URL): https://api.formaliq.com/mcp
Authentication: OAuth
Select I Understand and want to continue and then create the plugin.
Step 3: Sign in and grant access
ChatGPT will open Formaliq's sign-in and consent screen. Sign in if you aren't already, then review the Connect ChatGPT screen. It shows exactly what ChatGPT is asking to do (for example, read and write access to templates or forms) and lets you choose which organization — and optionally which workspace within it — to grant access to.
Choose Allow to finish connecting, or Deny to cancel.
If every organization you belong to is on the free plan, you'll be asked to upgrade before you can continue. See Connections for more on this requirement.
Step 4: Use it
Once connected, you can ask ChatGPT to work with Formaliq directly in conversation. For example, "create a form from the NDA template in the legal workspace," or "generate a document from the latest submission to the intake form and send it out for signature." ChatGPT will use the permissions you granted to carry out the request.
You may need to type @Formaliq in the chat to choose the plugin before asking questions.
Managing or removing the connection
You can see when the connection was made and when it was last used, and disconnect it at any time, from Settings > Connections in Formaliq. You can also remove the connector from ChatGPT's own connector settings.
